Not for us either. We completed an unsuccessful try at IVF right before signing on with our agency, and we wouldn't have gotten to choose the gender that way, either. So I wasn't really picky - I just wanted a child. But when my husband said he wanted a boy so that there would be someone around to take care of me if something happened to him, how could I refuse?
Sure, I was concerned at first - after 33 years, I still feel like I know very little about men, so how would I raise one?
Now I'm the proud parent of a great little boy and can't imagine my life any other way.
P.S. Seven months later, I still haven't been able to figure out the male mind, but I'm gettin' there.
