I see that you have many requests posted in response to your post that you can search CA for information. I hope that you can do one more. I am searching for my husband's birth parents (with his approval). He was born in Los Angeles County, CA on August 1, 1964. Officially his name was listed as "Baby Boy King". We managed to track down his foster mother and she confirmed a name on an old physical form - his name was listed as C L King. She told us that when he came to live with her, she was told my husband's name was Carl King and she sent us a picture of him when he first arrived at her home. In a search of the California Birth index, we found my husband listed 3 times, once as "King", once as "Jones" and once as "Stahl". No first name given on any of them. All three list the mother's maiden name as Jones. When I called California to try to locate the hospital he was born at (it has since closed and the records destroyed, I'm told), I was told that the baby would be given the last name the mother was using at birth (meaning her married name in our case). This has led us to believe that Stahl is his birth father's name.
