LOL

the Boys ages are 14 11 10 7 5.5 and 3.5

Yepp, we homeschool and I know all about tight budgets. We were in the Marine Corps for 20 years..

I cut corners when I can... I am a coupon FREAK, online, newspapers have friends clip and save em for me.

I watch for sales- Im not a one store shopper. I do go to Sam's maybe once a month if that. I also go to Walmart, Kroger an Meijer depending on what is on sale. We also have a store called Aldi- which is generic stuff for all the condiments, snacks, bread and canned goods. Without this my grocery bill would roughly be close to $1000 month which is a mtg payment! lol but with this system i have developed for us, I usually spend roughly half that amount, sometimes less. Sometimes more if we are having guests for dinner or bbq.

Bunks? lol Well, we just moved from Illinois over the summer to Indiana (job change for hubby). We went from a 4200 sq foot 4 bedroom 100 year old house to a 4 year old 2200 sq foot house w/ basement.

Naturally we dont have as much room for things..lol So we are in the middle of building triple bunks right now..
Its a 4 bedroom and the bedrooms are fairly large so one bedroom will fit two sets plus three tall dressers. Oldest has his own room, and 3rd bedroom is used for guests.
The loft area and the kitchen are used for schooling.

I think over the years you just have to get frugal without compromising living... I often shop for myself at salvation army.. the kids have so many clothes i dont know what to do with them all!

I am frantic about going to antique shops , garage sales, bargain stores, resale stores to look for furniture to restore and nic nacs, etc for decorating. Ive also been known to find some beautiful things garbage hunting..lol

Im quite creative and have been blessed with the gift of making something out of nothing. Thoughit has driven my dh nuts for 16 years.. Im sure he appreciates the cost- savings..lol

Sorry for ranting..

Yvonne

Humility is the foundation of all the other virtues hence, in the soul in which this virtue does not exist there cannot be any other virtue except in mere appearance.
