Health of Babies

Hi everybody!

I was just reading my agency's contract and noticed how the contract emphasizes that it is not responsible, in any way, for the health of the child referred to us. It is also not responsible of any inaccuracy or misrepresentation of the health of the child referred to us.

The agency I'm going to use has a great reputation, but I can't help but get a bit leary of these statements in the contract.
Has anybody else had this in their contract??

I'm worried that we will receive a glowing health report only to find out that there are serious medical conditions that were hidden from us.
How often does this happen???

From my understanding, pregnant moms may have some malnourishment during pregnancy. But drugs and alcohol abuse during pregnancy is not common in Guatemala.
Has anybody else heard this???

Help!

p.s. I don't think that I'm allowed to put down the name of my agency in this post, but I will pm anybody that would like to know.

Myrna
