Update: Bed Rest + Nicholas News

I just sent this email to my email list but figured many of you are wanting to know what's going on with this pregnancy, so, here's a copy/pasted email:

--

Dear Friends and Family,

I'm writing a brief email to let you know that I have been put on Level III bed rest for the duration of this pregnancy as of Monday morning. Level III is the most restrictive, other than hospital bed rest. So, basically, I'm breaking rules by emailing you this brief email, but my Husband gives me a few minutes every day to do a quick email check. He's awesome. We went into the hospital on Sunday night in another round of preterm labor. They stopped the contractions with another oh-so-fun shot of terbutaline. The next morning I was given a first dosage of the steroids to mature Nicholas' lungs. Though, we found out during the ultrasound shortly afterwards that the little one is all ready breathing. The ultrasound also showed that he is measuring just over five pounds, give or take a few ounces. We went back on Tuesday morning for another dosage of the steroid (which is not a fun shot to receive) as well as get a test (fFN) to see if he would be arriving in the next two weeks. The test came back negative so as long as I listen to what my doctor's are saying and stay in bed, we should be able to get this child to at least 36 weeks.

Please, please keep us in your prayers. We have had a long, hard fight with this pregnancy and would like to see Nicholas arrive as healthy as possible. A friend of ours is letting us borrow her laptop which we should have sometime next week, but not until then. So, if you're looking to communicate in a quick fashion, please don't hesitate to call our home number: (please PM me if you're interested in our phone number; only being offered to those who "know" us; heh). If the answering machine blips and screws up, you will just hear a BEEP. (It does this when our inbox is getting full.) Please leave a message after the beep; we're aware of the problem but have no way of fixing it ourselves. Seriously, feel free to call. I can only watch so much TV before my brain begins to rot!

Our home address is (please PM me if you're interested in our home address).

I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on further information. Again, keep us in your prayers; for my health, for Nicholas' health, for Josh's sanity as he has become super-household-Dad, for my sanity on the couch and in the bed, for the doctor's as they lead us through this scary time and for eventual labor and delivery. Oh, I'm also done working for the duration of the pregnancy and maternity leave, so pray that WHIZ stays on air. ha!

Talk with you soon!
