Billow --

I can understand how upsetting finding that out would be. You were probably told stories about the wonderful family waiting for your son just like I was.

I was in a home for unwed mothers in New Jersey in 1969 and I worked in the nursery there. We had one baby who was about 4 months old who had a hernia and I was told they didn't place babies until any health problems were resolved. However, I was told many lies, so I don't know whether there was truth in that or not.

Short of a reunion I don't know how you could find out what happened with your son. Have you checked whether the agency you went through has a reunion service? I was amazed to find that mine did, and I was able to reunite with my son six years ago.

I wish you all the best.
