Dear Son and Daughter,
Today you sit in your orphanage and you can't possibly know what your future holds. We sit here in our house waiting for you. Every moment right now, we talk about you. We wonder how you are, what you are doing, what you are thinking. We want to know if you are in school and learning great things. Your brother wants to know if you are warm at night when you go to sleep. Your Daddy wants to know what color your eyes are and if you've ever thrown a football. I just want to know when you'll be home.
To many it seems odd that our lives have been turned upside down by children we still have not met. To us, it seems normal. You have been growing in our hearts for many years. Longer than any Mommy will ever be pregnant, longer than you little girl have maybe even been alive.
You have bedrooms here where I sit and breathe you in. I know you are dreaming of us although you don't know who we are yet either. When I cry, it's for all of us...waiting for each other.
I've fallen in love two times before. Once with my husband and once with my son, both times feeling I'd never be that happy again. But, now you've blessed us with the ability to feel that happy again, as a BIG family. We can't wait!
Brother said this morning, "I've never wanted so bad to hug someone forever". That's it...we can't wait to hug you forever!
Here's to sweet dreams for us all tonight. Please know, we'll be there soon!
