I was nervous to do two cultures when we decided to go for Guatemala- ( our two at home are from Vietnam) but now I am excited about it- I think it will be great for all! My guess is people pick China because the process is so standard. Guatemala adoption is so unpredictable- of course if you have a GREAT agency( we do not) it is a bit more predictable- but even then it seems there can be landmines ( losing referrals, embassy investigations, law changes) China is pretty set since they centralized adoptions and it is taking a much shorter time right now to get referrals from China than it has in the past. China is also much less costly. These may be some of the reasons. The major benefit of Guatemala to me is the fostercare though.
