We used a soft green (sage??) on the walls with accents in brick red and burnt yellow. Curtains and bedskirt I made out of red gingham after Bug was hime, which made it more feminine for her. We used Bears and Books as our theme as that is what we had (no specific bedding except someone gave us some Blue Jean Teddy Bear stuff so we used some of that in the end... can you tell I'm not picky about this stuff?) It was fun to kind of put it together over time not just do it so everything matched. Eclectic I guess...
Whatever you do, don't spend a lot of money on a comforter type quilt as you can really use them much when the babe is a newborn. And we bought a dresser instead of a changing table. We never would have used the changine table (we used the bed until she moved into it or our bed or a mat on the floor) and the dresser can go with her as she grows up.
