  • Are adoptee/birthparent bonds eventually stronger or weaker in open adoptions

Maybe you can read a few books and possibly even consult with a therapist...

  • AnonymousWife, I am an adoptee also. I was 46 yrs old before I was ready to search. I was absolutley adamant that I would never search - and when anyone suggested I do so I would react with anger - they were taking me to a place I was not ready to go. What I noticed through the whole process for myself was that I had to maintain the control because as has been previously stated, control is...

  • Maybe you could start a private blog? I know on blogspot there is an option to make the blog only available to be read by certain people and you have an option to not allow comments. Might be a nice way to keep all updates you send her for your LO to be able to read later too. Just a thought.

  • I would look for a private preschool, that teaches at a higher standard.Public preschools in your area might have low standards .U might hire a tutor, until he's old enough to get into a gifted program.I'm not getting the laughing about ADHD.Many children have learning problem are gifted. She lost my respect,I wouldn't trust her much.

  • by jeffw Last comment: Today at 02:25 PM
  • I'll be in the same situation soon. Ours, though, was an adoptive placement and we had been promising permanency. He'll lose us and his sisters in the process. I've never done it before and am also interested in ideas, but here is my plan: We'll tell him 2 or 3 days prior. I'll take a day off of work and spend a whole day to take him on some kind of fun adventure in the mountains or desert. My...
