St. Vincent's closed for good in 1972, but from what I've read, they stopped accepting children for placement in 1968 due to the ending of funding from the state, that was when DCFS was formed. The building was taken over by Catholic Charities in 1972.

Sherree, it also occurs to me that your APs couldn't have "gotten" you without at least some complicity on the part of local law enforcement, courts, etc., if your bio family was fighting for you to be returned. My friend uses an anklet for her broken ankle actually.
